The Federal House Bed and Breakfast is located in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region of New York, close to Cornell and Ithaca College, downtown Ithaca, wineries, and several state parks famous for their gorges and waterfalls. Our Finger Lakes Bed and Breakfast is nestled in the serene hamlet of Ludlowville within yards of Salmon Creek and Ludlowville Falls, and less than two miles from Cayuga Lake. Guests may enjoy the sounds of the waterfall while sitting on our porch or in the garden gazebo. Salmon Creek is one of the best fishing spots in the Ithaca area.

Guests may choose from four guest rooms all with private baths, wireless internet, and air conditioning. Breakfasts are abundant and beautifully served at our elegant dining room table. At 9am we start with fresh squeezed orange juice or apple cider, depending on the season, followed by home baked muffins, scones, or breads served with a warm or fresh fruit compote. Coffee is locally roasted and there is an endless variety of teas. Herbs from the garden season frittatas, quiches, or crepes. Our emphasis is on serving homemade delicacies using produce from local farmers. With advance notice we can accommodate your dietary needs.

Urban guests will delight in the variety of wildlife that abounds in our area. Spend some time during your stay enjoying the great outdoors. Relax with a book in the hammock or swing, enjoy our perennial garden from the gazebo or guest porch, sit under the stars on a bench by the fire circle and be quietly entertained by the fireflies and waterfall. In summer, follow the sounds a few steps to the waterfall for an afternoon swim or picnic. Stand under the falls for an invigorating blast, or search for fossils or the ruins of the old mill.
